Go: Hearts of Hope
Go / Hearts of Hope
Overview
Who are we:
Hearts of Hope is a 501©3, faith-based ministry that provides strong family support during and after the incarceration of a loved one.
What we do:
Bi-monthly meetings are intended to provide encouragement and resources as we draw strength from God and each other. We help struggling families with food and DOC approved housing within the community.
Hearts of Hope also reaches out to the incarcerated through an encouraging monthly newsletter and greeting cards. “Freedom Bags” and other resources are given to inmates upon their release.
We partner with other prison ministries and support groups to bring hope where there is no hope and also o bring awareness of the trauma created by incarceration to families as the silent and forgotten victims.
Why we do it:
Credible research indicates strong family support is crucial to the successful re-entry of inmates back to their families and the community upon release.
